Pleasant Unity Volunteer Fire Department members, officers, fire corps members and community volunteers have been working hard planning a special 100th Anniversary Celebration to commemorate the origination of PUVFD in 1917. A series of events are planned to honor those who dedicated their time, knowledge and souls while having served or continue to serve as a firefighter with this department since 1917. We are very proud to be the first fire department in Unity Township and continue to strive to provide professional service in many types of emergency situations.
We ask that you please review the many events being planned and hope that you and your family try to take part as Pleasant Unity VFD is YOUR community fire department and we want everyone to come celebrate this huge milestone with the firefighters and community. Please consider placing an advertisement from your family in our commemorative book, memorialize a deceased PUVFD member with an advertisement, honor a current PUVFD member with an advertisement or simply show your support with an advertisement from your business or family.
We can also use help recruiting organizations, bands and spinerette groups to participate in the parade. We also need help with sponsors for the golf outing and also in need of foursomes to participate in the golf outing. Get registered for the Cornhole Tournament as that surely will be a fun event for everyone.
Some of the information regarding the 100th Anniversary Celebration is listed here below but we urge you to please click on the "FILE LIBRARY" tab to the left to check out more detailed information on all the events planned. All files associated with this celebration begin with "2017". We could still use some community volunteers to help with some of the events being held on June 9th & 10th - another planning meeting is scheduled for Monday, February 13th at 7:00 PM in the PUVFD social hall - Please consider coming to join others from the community who have already stepped up to help.
Thank you very much for the continued support,
Officers and Members of Pleasant Unity Volunteer Fire Department
